What happens when I call the emergency Response Center?
You will speak directly with a trained emergency operator in our US-based, UL-listed Response Center. They are there to answer your call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. In an emergency, help is sent immediately, and family and friends are notified. Operators are SIA-Certified (Security Industry Association).

Do I need a special type of phone line?
No! Our standard PERS system works in your house with any type of phone line.  We also offer the Cellular Alert system that works without any landline. It just plugs into any power outlet in your home.

Do you offer a system I can use away from home?
Yes! Our portable MobileAlert system works both at home and away so you can go wherever you want and still get help when you need it.

Can the personal Help Button be worn in the bath or shower?
Yes, Help Buttons are completely waterproof and can be worn in the bath or shower, where most falls occur. Both necklace and wristband pendants are available.

Where should I place my Medical Alert system?
The standard PERS system should be located near your main phone in a central and easily-accessed area. Make sure it isn't in an area with high heat or humidity. The system needs to be plugged in to operate, so locate it near a power outlet.

Will a power failure affect my Medical Alert system?
All emergency alarm console units feature a rechargeable back-up battery that powers the unit in the event of a power failure.

Will help be sent if I am unable to communicate with, or hear, the operator?

Does Medical Alert charge an activation or installation fee?
There is no activation or installation fee. Installing a Medical Alert system is as easy as plugging an answering machine into your phone. Our new Cellular unit plugs into any power outlet in your home with no adaptors needed.

Are there any fees other than the monthly monitoring charge?
No. The monthly Medical Alert monitoring fee covers all emergency monitoring-related charges.
